A member of the Marangal Class of 2005 and the Ground Commander of the 84th Special Action Company Seaborne, PLTCOL Raymond Train, assassinated Zulkipli Binhir alyas Marwan, widely known as the Osama Bin Laden of Asia, on Sunday, January 25, 2015.

Today, we heard the stories from the man who took the initiative, had the fortitude to fight, and accepted this vital procedure. There are numerous perspectives of the survivor that we might learn from but his side of the story amazed us and left us with the true essence of service and patriotism.

The news of the 44 Gallant SAF troops who lost their lives in the police operation "Operation Exodus" shocked the entire world. Due to the enemy’s mass advantage and terrain familiarization, they outpowered our troops which lead to the casualty of our police forces. Even though they successfully assassinate the target, it equates to the sacrifices of our 44 fallen heroes which for me is still considered a success in the mission.

Many criticized the result of the operation but for me, I commend the courage and bravery of all the ground commanders and team leaders of the said operation. Death is inevitable in this crucial police operation and as police officers, we must accept the fact and the consequences that we are battling for the love of our country even if it takes our lives as a sacrifice. We pledge and vowed to our country and fellow countrymen to enforce the law and serve our nation with our utmost ability, committedly and passionately. All the sacrifices of our troops are valued and cannot be forgotten for they are the true definition of patriotism, fighting and sacrificing their lives for the freedom our country deserves.

PLTCOL TRAIN gave me this feeling of belongingness to the police service. As a cadet of the Philippine National Police Academy, I realized that I am one of those chosen few and I should be the one leading and encouraging our fellow to always love the country where we belong. I am encouraged to join the Special Action Force and dedicate myself to the career I have chosen for this is the calling God wants me to pursue.
