ENHANCED LEADERSHIP PROGRAM with PBGEN HARRIS REYES FAMA
We had our Annual Monday Flag Raising with the guest of honor and speaker, no less than the Director of Information Technology Management Service of the Philippine National Police, PBGEN HARRIS REYES FAMA last November 7, 2022. In his message, he gave emphasis on the continuous evolution of modern technology and how it affects our society and our perspective including our service as police officers and law enforcers. We have shifted to virtual and online ways of doing our business and our daily life with increased efficiency and reduced processing time. With the advent of information and communications technology[1], crime is taking on a new form, so it is deemed important that law enforcement be prepared in this new era of cybercrime. With this, the Director of ITMS PBGEN Fama realized that the Philippine National Police should not be left behind and have come up with the prioritization of the implementation of the PNP ICT Master Plan wherein it corresponds to the PNP SMART policing which stands for Secured, Mobile, Artificial Intelligence-Driven, Real-Time Technology Policing. Police officers on the ground will be more productive and their groundwork will be significantly reduced with quicker business and communication processes.
He also encouraged us to continue persevering as future law enforcers because days from now we will be serving the Philippine National Police and we should be well-equipped especially in this field of law enforcement for this will be an advantage for us to effectively and efficiently enforce the law in our country. In addition, he also shared his favorite management tool which he considered a factor in his achievement and success in the service, this management tool is the so-called SAPADAPPA management tool wherein SA stands for Situation Analysis, PA stands for Problem Analysis, DA for Decision Analysis and lastly PPA for Potential Problem and Solution Analysis. He viewed this management tool as an essential component in preventing and resolving problems that will come our way in the field of public safety.
As future law enforcers, we should develop and improve ourselves more to become leaders for us to serve our purpose of enforcing the law and serving the people with our utmost integrity and to the best of our ability.
