DAY FOURTEEN OF CADET ATTACHMENT PROGRAM
One of the most important department that makes up a police station is the portion that deals with Police-Community interactions. The relationship between the community and the PNP[1] is strengthened and developed, helping the populace to establish a positive view of the police in their neighborhood. Being a Police Officer in terms of public relations and community affairs requires extensive community outreach, including food programs for underprivileged barangays, drug awareness campaigns, school and establishment visits, and even reaching out to the private sector of the community.
The Santa Rosa City Police Station was awarded as the Outstanding Police Station in the field of Community Relations in the Regional Level Year 2022 under the leadership of the Chief of Police, PLTCOL PAUL SABULAO.
In order to know and be informed about the best practices applied by the station, the Cadets from the Philippine National Police Academy took the opportunity to visit and familiarize themselves with the plans and programs under the Community Affairs and Development Section of the station.
The Cadets were able to gather information regarding the effective strategy of the office in implementing various Police-Community Relations Programs in support of the Anti-Criminality, Anti-Insurgency, and Anti-Terrorism campaigns of the Philippine National Police.
To sum it up, being a kind person, getting along with others, and having the ability to be approachable when someone needs our assistance, are all vital traits for a future Police Officer. We must fulfill our obligations to the best of our abilities without expecting anything in return since that is what we owe to the Filipino people. I was able to see the value of this exercise we carried out in the station, and I'll use it in my future work as a police officer.
Furthermore, the Santa Rosa City Police Station's Police Community Affairs and Development Division committed to further bolster the PNP's operational capabilities, which are crucial for encouraging community and citizen participation in the upkeep of peace and order and public safety.
